Posting to your blog from Email is a really great idea

I'm now using John Blade's wp-mail script to post to WordPress via email. It has some nice additional features that the wp-mail that comes bundled with WordPress doesn't have.

Apart from the convenience aspect, and the fact that I'm much less likely to lose a post in progress now due to an accidental hitting of the back button or other haphazard mouse click, I like the blogging-via-email approach because it's more like a factory assembly line. First I compose my missives and send them to my mail server. Then the mail server picks them up and drops them into a special mailbox. Then the wp-mail script gets called and processes the newly arrived message. It's room for unnecessary complexity, but those extra steps are also a way to get a lot more flexibility.
